I just canceled my ChatGPT Plus subscription last month and switched to Gemini. Do I need to go back because of GPT-5.2?

After reading these real user experience shares below, along with my hands-on testing, perhaps we’ll have an answer.

GPT-5.2 actually updated 3 models this time: GPT-5.2 Instant, Thinking, and the Pro model. If you’re accustomed to Gemini 3.0 Pro, where every Q&A goes through a thinking process, then when you start using GPT-5.2 Thinking/Pro, you’ll notice that ChatGPT’s thinking speed has slowed down and takes longer than before.

This is also the experience that most users who got early access have been sharing on social media. Namely, GPT-5.2 has improved over 5.1 in every aspect, and GPT-5.2 Pro is very suitable for professional reasoning work and tasks that require a long time to complete. However, the process of waiting for results has become more lengthy.

For example, one user shared that after entering the prompt “help me draw a chart of HLE test scores,” GPT-5.2 Pro took a full 24 minutes to produce this chart.
