Recently, the AI coding tool Cursor has gained significant attention for its impressive performance.

A new paper, co-authored by a key researcher from Cursor, introduces a method called PlanSearch, which enhances the code generation abilities of LLMs like Claude 3.5 Sonnet by searching through natural language plans.

The leading team behind this is Scale AI, with the first author being Evan Wang, a researcher at Scale AI.

The second author, Federico Cassano, has recently joined Cursor, the now popular AI coding tool company. Cassano was also involved in the creation of the GammaTau AI project, aimed at democratizing AI programming, and is an active contributor to the BigCode project, responsible for developing the StarCoder LLM series.
