Over the past year, large model technologies have gained widespread recognition, with increasing investments across the entire industry.

The open-source community has seen the emergence of many excellent models and frameworks, which have driven the popularity and application of large models. Throughout this year, the LLaMA series models have also experienced rapid development, from LLaMA 2 to LLaMA 3, showcasing significant improvements in both performance and applications.

In this season's column, I will adopt a "Learn by doing" approach, diving deep into the essence of large model technologies through concise examples.

We will explore the capabilities of LLaMA 3, analyze various aspects of large model technologies in detail, and go into the specifics you may encounter while using LLaMA 3.

In the first session, I will introduce the core capability of the LLaMA 3 model—dialogue generation—and demonstrate its strong potential in text generation.

Basic Operations: Content Generation

First, let’s understand the core capability of LLaMA 3.

LLaMA 3 primarily relies on the Next Token Prediction mechanism, generating coherent dialogues by predicting the next word.

This mechanism is based on training with massive text data, enabling the model to capture language patterns and rules to generate text that fits the contextual logic.
