Today, SoftBank's Masayoshi Son was allegedly duped by Altman!

Originally, SoftBank and OpenAI had already agreed that the former would invest $30 billion to build Stargate.

For this, SoftBank sold assets and took on a pile of new debt, practically selling everything they had.

However, the impatient Altman actually bypassed SoftBank directly and turned around to make deals with other operators??

Under the current special circumstances, the sudden emergence of such news is not without reason.

If computing power could be converted into explosive equivalent, the United States would probably have already erupted in an "AI nuclear war."

Yesterday, Altman stated that by the end of this year, OpenAI will bring online 1 million GPUs. He even boldly declared, hoping the team would multiply this number by 100, making it 100 million GPUs!

Then this morning, Musk responded tit-for-tat by pinning a tweet: xAI's goal is to bring online 50 million H100-equivalent AI computing power (but with higher energy efficiency) within 5 years.

This is another strong signal of escalating AI competition in America, following Silicon Valley's Meta "money-throwing campaign" and sky-high salary talent poaching.

What did they see?
