In a corner no one is watching, OpenClaw has updated again.
OpenClaw has just officially released v2026.10.1. According to the official figures, this update brings together the work of 402 contributors, covering 2,425 PRs and 3,055 commits.
Two new features stand out. Agents can now proactively search the Skills they have installed, and interactive MCP Apps can be opened right beside the chat window.
Beyond that, OpenClaw also brings off-device full backups, a simpler Mac installation flow, and a series of improvements across automation, session management, and model tooling.
As of publication, the release post had only about 34,000 views, a far cry from the buzz of the nationwide “raising lobsters” craze earlier this year.
So, now that it has left the center of public attention, where is OpenClaw actually heading?
