2025 has just begun, and OpenAI has made a bold move in the field of AI agents.

Today, OpenAI is launching a new experimental feature for ChatGPT called "Tasks," which allows users to schedule future actions and reminders.

For instance, if you want to receive a daily weather forecast at 7 a.m., need a reminder about your passport expiration, or simply want a knock-knock joke for your kids before bedtime—ChatGPT can now handle all these tasks by scheduling one-time or recurring tasks.

Unlike usual, OpenAI did not release a dedicated blog post for the announcement but made it official through two tweets.

“Today, we’re rolling out a test version of the ‘Tasks’ feature—a new way to ask ChatGPT to do something for you at a future time. Whether it’s a one-time reminder or a recurring action, just tell ChatGPT what you need and when you need it, and it will handle it automatically.”
