AI large models continue to improve in capability, enterprise applications have begun to shoulder the task of revenue growth, and data centers and computing infrastructure require sustained investment, while capital markets are re-evaluating just how much commercial return these investments can generate.
Reuters reported on October 19 that OpenAI is seeking a new funding round of about $30 billion, at a potential valuation of more than $1.4 trillion. The company is accelerating the funding arrangements, hoping to secure investor commitments ahead of rival Anthropic’s IPO process, which is expected to begin in mid-November. SoftBank Group, Abu Dhabi investment firm MGX and other existing investors are reportedly in talks to participate. These are funding plans disclosed by the media, and the specific arrangements have not yet been finalized.
