Sudden Show of Affection Amid Rumors of Rift

Out of the blue, Sam Altman and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who haven’t been seen together in a while, just put on a public display of camaraderie on Twitter, hinting at new progress in their collaboration.

Could this unexpected move signal a new announcement?

Or, upon closer inspection, is it more likely a response to fresh gossip?

In recent days, explosive rumors have surfaced:
Altman and Nadella, the powerhouse duo behind the win-win partnership of their companies, are increasingly at odds, drifting apart on multiple fronts.

Who’s who? Sam Altman is the helmsman of OpenAI; Satya Nadella is Microsoft’s current chief.

In the public’s vague perception, OpenAI is the trailblazer riding the wave of large-scale AI models, with Microsoft as its steadfast backer. Before ChatGPT burst onto the scene, Microsoft poured significant funding into a then-relatively obscure OpenAI, supporting its AI research. Later, it doubled down with more money and cloud servers.
