Just moments ago, Moonshot AI officially released and open-sourced Kimi k2.5.
The opening line of the official technical report doesn’t hold back: “the most powerful open-source model to date.”
Unlike its predecessor, Kimi k2.5 is not simply an “upgraded version,” but rather a native multimodal model pre-trained on 1.5T mixed vision and text tokens. Built upon this foundation, the Kimi team has constructed a system called Visual Agentic Intelligence.
This means that Kimi k2.5’s already extremely powerful long-text capabilities have now evolved into a super-foreman with both “eyes” to understand complex screens and “hands” to command massive agent clusters. In hardcore benchmark tests like SWE-Bench Verified (programming) and HLE (Humanity’s Last Exam), it not only surpasses DeepSeek V3 but even beats closed-source models like GPT and Gemini on multiple metrics.
