Last Friday night at 7 PM, I had a major refactoring task on my hands that I estimated would take two or three hours. In the past, I could only leave my computer running and wait. Now I just did one thing:

Let’s be clear first: It’s not the same as Remote Control
A lot of people mix these two up—I did too at the beginning.
Remote Control: Claude Code runs on your local computer, and you “watch” it remotely from your phone. Your computer cannot be turned off.
Cloud Sessions: The task runs directly on Anthropic’s cloud VMs. You can shut down your computer however you like—the task keeps running.
One is a remote control; the other is outsourcing the work entirely. Completely different things.
