Just now, Anthropic announced the release of Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5.
Fable 5 is Anthropic’s first Mythos-class model, opened to the general public, while Mythos 5 is primarily available to a small number of cybersecurity defense organizations, critical infrastructure providers, and biomedical researchers who later join the trusted access program.
What few people have noticed is that, according to the official announcement, Fable 5 will be included at no extra charge in Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans from now until June 22. Starting June 23, Fable 5 will be removed from these subscriptions, and continued use will require consuming usage credits.
In other words, the old “one monthly subscription unlocks the strongest AI” model may be gone forever. For users, the future may involve considering not just subscription prices, but also the real token costs behind every single call and every long task.
