Just now, OpenAI officially released its new-generation image generation model, Images 2.6, available simultaneously in ChatGPT, Codex, and the API.
The upgrade brings several important changes. First, image generation is 50% faster. Second, it supports generating animated GIFs from text prompts. Third, it further improves consistency across multi-turn edits, bringing AI image generation closer to the production standards of professional design assets.
The OpenAI Developers account also announced two models for developers, GPT-Image-2.6 Flare and Sunburst, focused on fast generation and high-quality image editing, respectively.
