Just now, OpenAI officially released GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, with API prices cut to about half of the previous generation. Luna costs $0.10 per million tokens for input and $0.50 for output—about RMB 0.7 and RMB 3.5.
For comparison, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash’s off-peak, cache-miss input price is RMB 1 per million tokens, and output is RMB 4. During peak hours, those rise to RMB 2 and RMB 8. On ordinary new requests, Luna is already cheaper, and it does not have the cost swings that come with peak/off-peak pricing.
DeepSeek still holds a pricing trump card. Its off-peak cache-hit input is only RMB 0.02 per million tokens, far below Luna. V4.1 Flash also remains clearly stronger overall: it has a 1 million token context window and supports image-text understanding, tool use, and thinking mode.
Even so, on ordinary cache-miss requests, Luna has already pulled DeepSeek models into the same price band. That means DeepSeek’s most distinctive low-price label now has a formidable overseas rival.
