The mysterious AI model Nano-Banana has gone viral, spawning numerous fake websites that make it hard to distinguish between imposters and the real thing.
Recently, a mysterious image generation and editing model called Nano-Banana has emerged in the AI community.
It was initially discovered in the "Battle" mode on the LMArena platform, but it's not listed on public leaderboards, nor has any official developer clearly claimed ownership of it.
However, many users have pieced together clues and speculated that this might be a Google research model.
Last Tuesday, Logan Kilpatrick, Google AI Studio's product lead, posted a banana emoji on X.
Naina Raisinghani, a Google DeepMind product manager, also posted an image similar to Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan's 2019 artwork featuring a banana taped to a wall.
