Good news: Google’s promise at MWC to integrate Project Astra with Gemini Live has come to fruition.
Just now, Google spokesperson Alex Joseph confirmed in an email to The Verge that Google has begun rolling out new AI features to Gemini Live. These features allow the AI to share a user’s phone screen or answer questions via the smartphone camera. This marks a significant advancement in real-time artificial intelligence interaction.
The rollout of these features comes a year after Google first showcased its "Project Astra" project.
A Reddit user reported being among the first to experience the screen-sharing feature, which is enabled through a new button called "Share screen with Live."
