On October 21, 2026, Google Cloud announced the integration of OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, GPT-6 Luna, and Codex into its Model Garden. Enterprise customers can now invoke these models via the Google Cloud Marketplace and draw down their existing cloud consumption commitments to pay for usage. The products are currently available in preview to select enterprise customers, with broader availability planned over time.

This move is mutually beneficial. For OpenAI, it means its advanced models are entering procurement frameworks that many enterprises already use. For Google Cloud, it enhances the platform’s overall appeal to enterprise clients.

Examining this through the lens of the industry supply chain and corporate growth yields further insight. Over the past two years, the AI industry focused primarily on model capabilities, chip supply, and data center construction. However, when enterprise customers deploy AI in real-world scenarios, they must also navigate procurement workflows, data governance, permission controls, system integration, and ongoing inference costs.
