First, some good news to report: my agy is back.
At the end of last year, Google’s Antigravity IDE could call Claude Opus 4.6, which was pretty nice. There was also a promo: $199 for a year of Pro, plus the whole Google family of products.
I impulse-bought it. That was the first and last time I’ll ever buy an annual membership on any platform.
Google killed Gemini CLI and turned it into agy. Fine, change it if you want — but what’s this supposed to mean: Eligibility check failed: Your current account is not eligible for Antigravity because xxx. The web and mobile versions were fine.
You can apply to change your service region. I even asked the web version of Gemini for the exact steps.
Once agy was usable again, things finally felt a bit more comfortable. Otherwise, those $199 would have made me a complete sucker.
I happened to see that the latest Gemini desktop client update now supports Windows. Since I’d already paid the annual fee, I downloaded the client again and took it for a spin to see how far it’s actually evolved.
