On the same day, at a developer conference in San Francisco, Silicon Valley AI giant Anthropic announced it had signed a cooperation agreement with Musk’s SpaceX to secure nearly all the computing power of Musk’s Colossus 1 data center in Memphis, Tennessee — a staggering 220,000+ NVIDIA GPUs.
This is a deal that once seemed highly improbable. Yet in the face of a common adversary, even former rivals like Anthropic and SpaceX have joined forces.
After all, the enemy of my enemy is my ally.
Musk himself had just announced via X that xAI has officially been dissolved as an independent company and will be fully integrated into SpaceX’s AI team, SpaceXAI.
