Just now, DeepSeek Harness released the v0.1.0-rc.8 pre-release version.

Specifically, the DeepSeek model adapter will start receiving images, Claude Code and Codex can be installed on demand as sub-agents, web_search now supports concurrent queries, and the Windows side has added persistent PowerShell sessions.

Individually, none of these items is earth-shattering. Taken together, however, the direction of DeepSeek Harness is becoming increasingly clear.

It is gradually evolving from “equipping DeepSeek with a set of Agent tools” into a more general-purpose Agent working environment. Models, images, files, search, terminals, and Coding Agents from other companies can all be placed into the same workflow for orchestration.

Beyond the strengthening of multimodal capabilities, the most noteworthy aspects are Claude Code and Codex.
