We can create custom status bars for Claude Code to display contextual information. Here, it shows the project name, the model Claude Code is currently using, and the number of tokens already consumed.

Through custom status bars, useful contextual information can be displayed directly below the input box.

The biggest advantage is the highly intuitive presentation of operational status. Especially in multi-window, multi-project scenarios, Claude Code’s running status can be known at a glance.

Token consumption can also quickly remind us whether we’ve reached the compression threshold, making it convenient to finish up code work in advance to avoid triggering unnecessary compression.
