Cursor is genuinely getting harder and harder to use, especially since version 0.45, where its intelligence has visibly declined, and it’s becoming more and more Trae-like.
Over this period, I’ve noticed that Cursor’s context window is getting shorter, and it randomly modifies files from time to time. For a simple issue, it can take forever to figure out, even though I’ve already provided the error message and a solution—it just refuses to fix it.
The most absurd thing is that I enabled the MCP feature, and now every time I edit a file, it calls MCP’s write-file function. I even removed the configuration file, and it’s still calling MCP’s rite_file.
