Anthropic Doubles Down on AI for Science.

Today, Anthropic announced a series of improvements to its AI model Claude, with the core objective of enhancing Claude’s capabilities in the life sciences field, thereby accelerating scientific progress. Ultimately, Anthropic hopes to accelerate life sciences R&D by an order of magnitude, achieving the goal of “completing 100 years of scientific progress within 10 years.”

At the same time, Jonah Cool and Eric Kauderer-Abrams, two executives from Anthropic’s Life Sciences Research division, elaborated on Anthropic’s vision for applying AI to life sciences research in a podcast released today. In the future, the company hopes to elevate Claude to the level of a “superhuman research assistant,” helping scientists complete tasks at every stage of scientific research.
