Last month I took over a three-year-old warehouse that nobody had touched. On day one, I didn’t start with business logic. I started with a bad feeling: how many security holes were buried in this code? Nobody could say.

I’ve used commercial scanners too — SAST and the like. Hundreds of alerts in one pass, most of them false positives. You click through until you start questioning your life choices.

Then I saw Anthropic’s official Claude Security plugin. The pitch was “multi-agent vulnerability scanning.” I figured I’d let AI read the code the way a security researcher would. After one pass, my take: this is not the same game as a traditional scanner.

How it works

Traditional scanners match rules. At heart, they’re a fancy grep. This plugin has a team of Claude agents simulate a human pentest workflow:
