Anthropic released the public beta of Claude for Word on April 10. The first batch was available only to Team and Enterprise users.
One week later, Pro and Max users are now also granted access and can use it together with the newly released Opus 4.7.
Looking at the timeline:
Claude for Excel was released last October, PowerPoint in February this year, and now Word completes the set. Anthropic’s full Office suite is now complete.
Open an NDA contract in Word. On the right, Claude gives a one-click summary of 6 open comments. It’s running on Sonnet 4.6.
What is Claude for Word?
Open Word, find the Claude icon in the Home or Insert tab’s add-ins section, and click it. A sidebar will expand on the right side — in the exact same position as Microsoft’s own Copilot.
