Anthropic dropped another bombshell yesterday. Since the 20th, Claude has been iterating at a blistering pace—almost one major new version every two days. This latest release is truly jaw-dropping: the AI can now control your computer mouse.
The new release is called Dispatch. It lets you command Claude to control your computer directly from your phone. What’s even more interesting is that Dispatch directly answers a question that has been hotly debated in the AI community lately: In the age of AI Agents, do we still need Apps?
Anthropic’s answer is clear: Yes, we need them more than ever.
Your Phone Becomes the AI’s Remote Control
Dispatch is currently in “research preview” and is only available to Max subscribers (starting at $100/month) on macOS. Windows and Linux versions are in active development.
Its product concept is very clear: a persistent thread from your phone to your desktop. You start a task on your phone, Claude executes it on the desktop, and the results are sent back to your phone. The entire process is seamlessly synchronized across devices, and the conversation never breaks.
What’s particularly noteworthy is the technical architecture behind Dispatch. It is not a standalone phone feature, but rather a remote control layer built on top of the Claude Code CLI tool.
