Anthropic has officially launched Routines, the automated task feature for Claude Code. It is currently in research preview.

Once you configure the prompt, code repository, and connectors just once, Claude can work completely autonomously in the cloud. All tasks run on Anthropic’s cloud infrastructure, meaning you don’t need to keep your computer on at all. Even if you shut down your machine after work, it can still handle your code backlog, review code, and respond to cloud events on schedule.

This feature completely eliminates the previous cumbersome process where developers had to manually manage cron jobs, set up infrastructure, and maintain MCP servers. The system supports three highly flexible triggering methods that cover almost all daily development scenarios.
