In a recent interview, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman revealed that ChatGPT’s weekly active users have surpassed 400 million. He stated that approximately 10% of the global population is using OpenAI’s products, implying a total user base of nearly 800 million.

According to Appfigures data, ChatGPT became the most downloaded non-gaming app globally in March, surpassing giants like Instagram and TikTok. It recorded 46 million new downloads that month, a 28% increase from the previous month, setting a historical record.

However, behind the dazzling achievements lies an undeniable anxiety. The most direct manifestation of this “insecurity” is that, as AI competition intensifies this year, Sam Altman’s frequency of promotional posts on the X platform has noticeably increased.

Early in the morning, we saw Altman posting on X:

We’ve got a lot of exciting stuff prepared for you, coming up this week!
