Can the new GPT-5-Codex replace GPT-5-high?
The answer is: No, it cannot!
After using both models intensively for two consecutive days, my biggest takeaway is that each has its own strengths, and it's not necessarily a matter of one replacing the other.
For my daily work development, I still use GPT-5-high, but for task organization or project planning, I use GPT-5-Codex.
GPT-5-high can often understand your intentions even when you give it a relatively vague requirement. It fills in the details you didn't explicitly mention and can guess what you want.
