Recently, Amazon released Kiro.
Specs is a methodology used in Kiro for the structured development of complex functionality. It systematically converts rough ideas into requirements, design, and implementation plans - essentially Kiro's killer feature.
The question is: can it be used elsewhere?
The answer is yes! I've hacked its prompt content. With this prompt, we can completely migrate this workflow to Claude Code, Cursor, Windsur, or Gemini Code.
Let me first briefly introduce this workflow. Later in the article, I'll combine it with Claude Code to provide efficient command-line instructions for quick integration. Once configured, it can be used everywhere.
Why Use This Workflow?
First, AI needs a context-building process. Just like humans understanding complex problems, AI also needs to progressively build an understanding of the business domain. Directly generating specs is like blind people touching an elephant - only seeing parts of the whole.
