The AI industry has been quite turbulent lately, with major players fiercely competing.

Apple Reportedly Weighing Bid to Acquire Perplexity AI - Gizchina.com

According to reports, Apple is considering acquiring AI startup Perplexity! This move could set a record for Apple’s largest acquisition ever.
Internally, Apple executives have discussed the possibility of acquiring Perplexity AI.

Apple’s Largest Acquisition Ever

According to well-known Apple insider Mark Gurman, negotiations are still in the early stages and may not lead to a formal offer.
However, Apple’s head of mergers and acquisitions, Adrian Perica, services chief Eddy Cue, and top AI leadership have raised the idea.
Acquiring Perplexity won’t come cheap, as its valuation has skyrocketed.
Recently, Perplexity completed a funding round with a valuation of $14 billion.
For Apple, this would be an unprecedented acquisition, far surpassing the $3 billion Beats deal in 2014.
Gurman’s take on the acquisition is as follows:

Acquiring Perplexity would bring Apple AI talent, a well-known AI brand, and a consumer product. The deal could also aid Apple’s future talent recruitment efforts.

Reports indicate that Apple has held multiple meetings with Perplexity in recent months, with its internal AI team closely evaluating the deal.
However, Apple declined to comment, while Perplexity stated, “We are unaware of any current or future acquisition talks.”
