Never before has such a Versailles-style scene been witnessed.
Amazon Web Services CEO Matt Garman, at his company’s annual extravaganza re: Invent 2025, had so many new products left to announce that he came out with this line on stage:
I challenge myself to launch 25 products in 10 minutes!
Given this unprecedented move, the audience immediately erupted in excitement.
Then, Garman actually went ahead and released new compute, storage, security, database, and big data-related offerings at a pace of one product every 24 seconds.
Many might wonder: Is this a necessary rush? Isn’t it a bit frivolous?
The rush is real, but frivolous? Absolutely not.
This year, Amazon Web Services launched nearly 40 new products in just over 2 hours.
This doesn’t mean the previous 25 items weren’t important—it’s that the earlier announcements were even more explosive—
Centred around the hottest topic of AI Agents, from computing power to models, from platforms to applications, virtually everything you can think of and use was covered.
If we had to summarise the entire launch event in one word, it would be practical.
The kind that strikes at the “vital point” of all the challenges you face when using large AI models and AI Agents.
Next, let’s take a look at just how significant the earlier announcements were.
