One of the largest mergers and acquisitions in the history of the semiconductor industry has successfully concluded: SK hynix, the world’s second-largest memory chip manufacturer, recently announced that it has completed the acquisition of Intel’s NAND flash memory business.
With the final payment of $1.9 billion received on March 27, SK hynix has officially brought Intel’s NAND flash memory business under its umbrella.
This business unit had previously been rebranded as “Solidigm,” and it will continue to operate under this name following the acquisition. With this, a major acquisition deal that spanned nearly five years has officially come to a close.
